About Brigadoon: Brigadoon group was founded by Liesel, Elseline and JC.

Our passion for people living with Dementia lead to the establishment of Brigadoon Lodge and Brigadoon Village.

 

Why the name Brigadoon?

The definition of Brigadoon from Websters: A place that is idyllic, unaffected by time, or remote from reality.

The legend of Brigadoon is the story of a mythical village in the Scottish highlands where time stands still. The beautiful village became enchanted centuries ago. Brigadoon remained unchanged and invisible to the outside world except for one special day every hundred years when it could be seen and visited by outsiders. This joyous day is spent in celebration.

Those who come to Brigadoon may remain in this mysterious little town only if they love one another enough to give up the world outside. The most common portrayal of the legend was the 1947 Broadway musical Brigadoon.
